At Princes Group, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment to responsible business practices spans across our people, our planet, and our products. This Progress Report highlights the strides we’ve made in key areas—championing ethical procurement, supporting farm-level certification, reducing waste and emissions, and enhancing the sustainability of our supply chains. As we continue to work towards our ambitious 2030 and 2050 targets, we remain focused on creating lasting value for our stakeholders while protecting the resources and communities that sustain us.
Summary of Our Progress
People
- Ethical Procurement: Retained CIPS Corporate Ethics Mark; all procurement colleagues’ complete annual assessments.
- Farm-Level Certification: 100% of Southern Italian tomato growers hold ethical accreditation (Global GAP GRASP or SA8000).
Planet
- Waste Reduction:
- General waste reduced by 33.85% (target: 30% by 2030).
- Food waste reduced by 30.65% (target: 50% by 2030).
- Food Redistribution: 414.5 tonnes donated in 2024 via FareShare and local partners.
- Palm Oil: 100% RSPO certified (Segregated); enhancement target set for 2025.
- Carbon Emissions:
- Scope 1 & 2: 50.4% reduction target by 2032 (on track).
- Scope 3: Science Based Targets validated; net zero by 2050.
- Energy & Water:
- 45% of energy now generated on-site (target: 50% by 2030).
- Water use reduced by 12% (target: 25% by 2030).
Products
- Soy: Committed to 100% responsibly sourced soy by 2025 (on track).
- Seafood: 60% of branded tuna MSC-certified; full certification targeted by end of 2025.
- Packaging:
- Recycled content in plastic packaging at 33.2% (target: 40% by 2025).
- 97.12% of packaging is widely recyclable.
